Vasrue.com Announces Operation Iraqi Freedom $1,000 College Grant
This week, Vasrue.com announced the launch of its $1,000 college grant to be awarded to a qualifying dependant of an active soldier who’s area of operation concentrates in Iraq or Afghanistan. This grant is in honor of Army SPC. Roy Russell Buckley and Army Pfc. Gavin J. Colburn, both killed in action.
For award consideration, applicants must have a mother or father who is or has been actively stationed in Iraq or Afghanistan between January 1, 2003 and August 1, 2006. Applicants must also submit a 200-300 word essay describing the history of the purple heart and its significance to them. Applicants cannot be employees, vendors, contractors or partners of Vasrue.com.
